MIA Update - April 17, 2023

MIA Update: The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced two burial updates and two identifications for service members who have been missing and unaccounted-for from World War II and Vietnam. Returning home for burial with full military honors are:
-- Navy Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class Cecil E. Barncord, 24, of Topeka, Kansas, was assigned to the battleship USS Oklahoma, which was moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft on Dec. 7, 1941. He was among the 429 crewmen killed that day. He will be buried on a date yet to be determined in Mossy Rock, Washington. -- Navy Mess Attendant 2nd Class Archie Callahan Jr., 19, of Newark, New Jersey, was assigned to the battleship USS Oklahoma, which was moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft on Dec. 7, 1941. He was among the 429 crewmen killed that day. He will be buried on May 5, 2023, at Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, Virginia.
