Aloha All....a "Welcome Home" 15th Annual BBQ for 100 of our returning Marines representing all outfits at Camp Pendleton will be held this Saturday at 1100 hours at Camp Pendleton's San Onofre Beach near Trestles. The 1st Marine Division Association and VVA Chapter 785 will again host this event. All proceeds from the BBQ and auction by the internationally famous auctioneer Monsoon will go directly to support our Marines and their families at the "Wounded Marine Barracks" at Camp Pendleton. All are invited and donations monetary and in kind are happily accepted. We will also dedicate this BBQ to MGySgt Harry Mixer (in pith helmet) who was a plank holder for these BBQ's and who passed away this past year. Harry was always a supporter and organizer for these BBQ's and is sorely missed by all. Item of note....take the Basilone Road Exit but use the Power Plant road to Beach as the Camp Pendleton Road to beach is under repairs. Look forward to seeing everybody there as this BBQ is always a hoot and just another way of taking care of our own. Call "Pitbull" if you need transportation as he will be driving our Chapter Van.
