EDD launched the first Phase of the New CalJOBS this morning. Please see an abbreviated version of the message (below) sent by Mr. Dennis Petrie, Deputy Director of the Workforce Services Branch of EDD and Chair of the ICV Work Group. This is also a milestone for services to veterans as the new site is more user friendly for both the veteran and the employer wishing to hire veterans. Dear WSB team and Department friends,

I am thrilled to inform everyone that Phase 1A of the New CalJOBS, the redesigned online resource that enables EDD to do business with 21st Century technology launched successfully across the public workforce system in California just moments ago. This major milestone has been long in the making, supports the WSB and EDD Enterprise Strategic Business Plans and provides our dual customer base with a modern and effective tool to do business. Although we will continue, in the weeks and months ahead, to prepare for the full spectrum of enhancements to also come on-line with Phase 1B of this “State of the Art” functionality; each of us can take pride in knowing that together, we now pay witnesses to employing one of the most advanced labor exchange and employment services tool in the country. Our legacy CalJOBS has “left the building” and in its place is an enhanced and innovative product that supports the EDD’s capacity to adapt to new ways of doing business…….. ”
