A Night For Veterans - Cigar Dinner - Riverside - April 17

#1 Postby boardman » Mon Feb 16, 2015 12:20 pm

Together with members of the community, the Riverside City Firefighters Foundation is sponsoring a cigar dinner to benefit US VETS, Inland Empire. Look them up on the internet...their work is outstanding. US VETS provides transitional and permanent hou sing for homeless veterans, male or female, including their families. Additionally, they provide counseling and job assistance to each veteran so they may re-enter mainstream society to become productive members of the community.

Here is information regarding our dinner.
All net proceeds will benefit US Vets, a national 501c3 organization active in the IE to provide shelter and assistance for homeless veterans.
The Riverside City Firefighters Foundation is acting as a financial sponsor of this event.
An outdoor venue will be created at the Canyon Crest Country Club, overlooking the golf course, with military vehicles on display.
A cash bar and silent auction will begin at 6 PM.
Attendees will be served a gourmet three-course dinner paired with a top-shelf cigar provided by the Helios Cigar Lounge.
Live entertainment will be offered by recording artist Lizann Warner.
The keynote address will be delivered by Riverside Country Sheriff Stan Sniff, an Army veteran.
US Vets IE Executive Director Eddie Estrada, along with a veteran who has received assistance from US Vets in our community will be present to thank the participants and briefly share the mission of US Vets, specifically at their Joint Powers Authority shelter at the March Air Reserve Base.
A flag retirement ceremony will be held featuring the UCR Pipe Band (Amazing Grace) and Battalion Chief Thomas Jay (Taps).
The per person cost is $100, $50 of which will be directed to US Vets.
Reservations can be made by contacting Jenni Ebbesen at the Canyon Crest CC: 951-274-7905.
Although you may not consider $100 a plate a bargain, this cost pales in comparison to the sacrifices made by our nation's veterans and their families.

In addition to or in place of attending the charity dinner, supporters may send donations to US Vets care of the Riverside City Firefighters Foundation, a 501c3 organization acting as a financial sponsor for the event. Donations can be sent to:
