WHO: California Department of Veterans Affairs
WHAT: Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance

Ceremony - November 9, 2014 – 1:00 p. m. (Details to follow)
WHERE: State Capitol Park – Old Rose Garden Area
BACKGROUND
The Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance honors our fallen service members, from the U. S. Embassy bombing in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983, to current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Wall also honors civilians and first responders who died during the terror attacks of 9/11. The Wall is inscribed with 11,000 names and contains a full-color timeline of events since 1983.
Designed and built by Vision2Victory, a non-profit organization granting wishes to combat-injured Veterans, the Wall was originally intended to be displayed only once to honor the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. The Wall became popular and began touring the country, travelling more than 10,000 miles during the past three years.
Event organizers seek volunteers to set up and tear down the exhibit, stand guard at the exhibit, and staff Veteran service organization (VSO) information tables. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Phil Rios at kepncadence@yahoo.com. If you would like to set up an VSO information table, please contact Don Harper at govia@comcast.net.
