CA State Veterans Committee Members Named

Veterans,

FYI: As we had previously reported, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-66, Torrance) was named Chair of the Veterans Committee in December. The Speaker of the Assembly, John Perez, has now named the members of that committee.

Former Acting Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs and retired Marine Corps Colonel Rocky Chavez has been named Vice Chair. Assemblymember Chavez (R-76, Oceanside) is joined by fellow military veterans Susan Talamantes-Eggman (D-13, Stockton; Army), Shannon Grove (R-34, Bakersfield; Army), and Melissa Melendez (R-67, Murrieta; Navy) on the committee.

Assemblymembers Toni Atkins (D-78, San Diego) and Mariko Yamada (D-4, Davis) will continue to serve on the committee from last session.

Also, the following Assemblymembers who are military veterans were chosen for the following important committee positions:

Assemblymember Jeff Gorell (R-44, Camarillo; Navy) - Vice Chair of the Budget Committee
Assemblymember Chavez - Vice Chair of the Higher Education Committee
