the entire Chapter wishes to express our gratitude and thanks to Chapter 53 President Jerry Yamamoto. Jerry has been an asset to the Vietnam Veterans of America since it's Charter was granted. A hard working and dedicated individual, Jerry has contributed so much to veterans and their families that it would take pages to fill out of his endeavors and achievements. When asked to participate with our "Moving Wall Experience" Jerry was just completing one of his many "standowns" in Compton. He still replied in the affirmative and showed up to the information booth to start a three day run to see if he could go without sleep. Jerry was instrumental in helping veterans and their families find loved ones one the "Wall" and showed them the empathy and understanding of those who had suffered a loss. A gentleman of the highest caliber, Jerry was proud to carry the "colors" for our candlelight service and the National VVA organization could be proud as three Chapters participated in this moving event, Steve Mackey, President of Chapter 47, Jerry Yamamoto, President of Chapter 53 and Jim Chung, Director of Chapter 785...........we truly are a "Band of Brothers." Thank you Jerry for all your support over the years and especially for being the catalyst for making the "Vietnam Memorial Highway" a reality. Your hard work, dedication, love for veterans and the courage to make changes to benefit those veterans in need make you a standout and a hero in our book. Semper Fi to a "giant in the Vietnam Veterans community" and thank you for all that you do for Veterans.............Semper Fi
