.we must acknowledge the catalyst that brought the entire "Moving Wall Experience" to fruition, Fran Motzkin. The Director of Pacific View Memorial Park, not only requested the "Moving Wall Experience" a year ago, but under her leadership, she brought together the many teams that planned, organized and executed the mission of bringing the veterans and community together for this very memorable experience. She was very much involved in every facet of the planning and spent many long hours ensuring that nothing was left to chance. She briefed weekly over round table discussions to ensure that everything was considered and covered by her appointed teams. The collaboration between the staff of Pacific View and members of Chapter 785 was superb and the camaraderie and friendships that developed were bonded together in one cause, one mission, one direction, to make the "Moving Wall Experience" a reflective, instructional and healing process for both military veterans and the community for which these veterans sacrificed and served. It is to her credit that this was accomplished as veterans and community members came together in solidarity recognizing and acknowledging the sacrifice and service of its nations heroes, the veterans. Fran, you are to be commended for your efforts, organizational skills and belief in our Chapter members, that we would make this experience a memorable one. You supported us, stood by us, and never once doubted the planning or execution of this event. You allowed your staff and our Chapter to do what we do best........."make it happen." We are all very proud of you and thank you for allowing us to participate in this wonderful experience...............many veterans were moved, healed or found friendship or peace at the "Wall" because of your vision.....Semper Fi you wonderful lady.......Chapter 785 sends
We must also acknowledge Jim Hills, a member of Pacific View Memorial Park, who also participated in the four days of events. Jim, the handsome gentleman standing to the right of Fran, was on hand every day, greeting and guiding visitors to the "Wall" and supporting those that were apprehensive and unsure. Jim has the knowledge, wisdom, understanding and empathy to put veterans and visitors 'at ease' and was the single greeter that made the transition from today to yesterday's reality much easier for those paying tribute at the "Wall." Additionally, Jim supported many chapter members with their particular needs...........Jim was instrumental and and played a vital role in making the "Moving Wall Experience" a wonderful and moving experience for so many and we will always consider him a "Band of Brothers"............Semper Fi and thank you Jim.
